We are once again pleased to welcome athletes from across the province this weekend as the compete in the BC Cup at the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club. It will be great to see so many talented athletes testing their skills on our amazing trails. Our volunteer team has been working hard to prepare for the event, it should be an amazing weekend. We wish everyone, especially our local athletes, all the best in their competition.
For all those everyday skiers not involved in the competitions, the club will still be open for skiing, and the skiing is fantastic. There is snow in the forecast and the Pisten Bully has been out regularly. As noted, Skills Development Programs (bunnies, jack rabbits, track attack, junior racing, biathlon) are not scheduled for the weekend but we hope to see all our young athletes participating in the events. Ensure you arrive early to find available parking.
If you wish to avoid the events while you ski, check out our recreation users map that will allow you to ski your favorite trails and avoid any of the events. Happy Skiing. We highly suggest parking at the Dog lot or Parking Lot #3 for easy access to the recreational trail.
Waxing information for Members:
The Wax room will be used for Volunteers over the weekend. We have set up a space for members in the large Machine Shop (the metal one by Parking Lot #3) for members to wax their skis if needed. A reminder that the races are typically done and cleaned up by 3pm, so if you are looking at a quiet ski, might be worth coming out then.
