Welcome to the 2019 World Para Nordic Skiing Championships Volunteer Team!

Date: February 15-24, 2019

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the 2019 World Para Nordic Skiing Championships! We currently have 328 people registered as volunteers. These numbers may exceed what we require and we are currently placing everyone who registered in a role. Please check back at a later date to see if the volunteer registration has reopened. We don't want to turn anyone away but need to ensure those who have registered have jobs assigned to them.

Important Dates to Remember:


Saturday, February 2
Volunteer Host Training (includes brief session on being a World Para Nordic volunteer and this is where volunteers receive their photo accreditation, jackets, t-shirts and Buffs.
Location: Otway Nordic Center (Main Lodge, upstairs) at 2 p.m.


Thursday, February 7th
Volunteer Host Training (includes brief session on being a World Para Nordic volunteer and this is where volunteers receive their photo accreditation, jackets, t-shirts and Buffs.
Location: Otway but in the XC Technical Building at 6 p.m.


Wednesday, February 13
Volunteer Host Training (includes brief session on being a World Para Nordic volunteer and this is where volunteers receive their photo accreditation, jackets, t-shirts and Buffs.
Location: Civic Centre with sessions at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

In urgent need of volunteers for Security, Ceremonies and Biathlon.

Over 250 volunteers will be required to help make this a well-run, successful event for Prince George.
We need volunteers in the following areas:

  • Race Office (Otway)
  • On Course (Otway)
  • Course Controllers (Otway)
  • Stadium (Otway)
  • Stadium Marshall (Otway)
  • Start/Finish Areas (Otway)
  • Timing (Otway)
  • Biathlon Range Official (Otway)
  • Volunteer Center (Otway)
  • Venue/Event Host (Hotels, Airport, Civic Centre)
  • Ceremonies/Pageantry (Otway and Civic Centre)
  • Transportation (Various locations)
  • Security (Various locations)
  • General venue volunteer (Otway)

Volunteer Benefits

  1. Working with some of the world's best athletes;
  2. Volunteers will receive a uniform (jacket, technical t-shirt and Buff). The jackets will be for those who commit to two (2) or more days. A nominal fee of $50 will be charged for the jackets but is refundable upon return of the jacket to the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club; and
  3. Volunteers receive a lunch each day they volunteer.
